The Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK connector system is a small and durable connector system that combines pins and sockets in the plug and cap housings to achieve optimal electrical performance within a.163″ [4.14mm] centerline. This is made possible by the Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK connector system’s unique pin-and-socket design. Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK connector housings are polarized to ensure proper plug-to-cap mating. In addition, they include a positive locking mechanism to prevent the accidental separation of mated connectors. Because system flexibility is essential, the contacts are completely encased in housings, have minimal mating forces, and may be withdrawn. The Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK connector system is appropriate for applications needing moisture resistance or where there is excessive humidity, occasional liquid splashing, or foam-in. This type of technology is especially useful in these types of scenarios.

Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK connectors allow for wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connections. Its contacts are set on a centerline of 4.14 millimetres (163 mils) broad, and its maximum current rating per line is 9.5 amps. Housings for plugs and receptacles permit wire-to-wire and wire-to-panel layouts, and header assemblies provide wire-to-board connections in vertical and right-angle orientations. In 1-15 position in-line, dual row, and matrix designs, wire-to-wire, free-hanging, and panel-mount options are offered. On the other hand, wire-to-board systems are available in a dual row and matrix designs with 2-24 position increments. In addition to being available in 2-4 locations, hermaphroditic housings are suited for free-hanging installations. Crimp, snap-in pin, and receptacle connections can be used to terminate 30-16 [0.05-1.2 mm2] AWG wire with insulation widths of up to 3.20 mm.

In addition, the design of the Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK connector system is splash-proof. This enables the system to be utilized in situations with high humidity, occasional liquid splashing, or foam-in applications, which all require a sealed connector for optimum electrical performance. Two to sixteen seats are provided for the sealed system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a socket connector?

Sockets, sometimes called receptacles or female connections, hold plug pins. Even though the vast majority of socket connector types are circular or rectangular, there is a huge variety of sizes and forms available.

How to Find the Right Connector? Essential Requirements & Specifications?

Like any other type of component, connectors come with their unique set of essential requirements and parameters. There is a significant relationship between size and shape. The “D” type is one example of the industry-standard forms that may be found among the common types. These shapes are general-purpose in nature and can be applied to various contexts. Other connectors, such as USB or SCSI, are linked to a particular application. After the designer has decided which type of connector to use, the next step is to compile a list of the most important criteria. The most important ones are as follows:

  • Operating Temperature Range
  • Number of Mating Cycles
  • Connector Contact Specifications
  • Insertion Force
