The OPA2134 Op-Amp is an audio operational amplifier with outstanding performance while maintaining a cheap cost. Keep reading this page to gain further insight into this item’s functions, capabilities, and characteristics, its applications, where it may be used, how it can be used, and many other related topics.
The OPA2134 series of operational amplifiers provide ultra-low distortion and low noise and are completely defined for use in audio applications. A real FET input stage has been integrated to achieve great audio performance. This provides for superior sound quality as well as speed. This, in conjunction with the high output drive capabilities and outstanding DC performance, enables the device to be used in various demanding applications, including a slew rate of 20 V/s.
The OPA2134 is a Dual Package Operational Amplifier, which means that it contains not one but two Op-amps, and both can be utilized independently of one another.
The fact that the OPA2134 Op-amps are low-noise operational,ultra-low distortion amplifiers completely defined for audio applications is the primary characteristic that sets them apart from similar products. A real FET input stage has been integrated to achieve great audio performance. This provides for superior sound quality as well as speed. This, in addition to the superior DC performance and high output drive capability, enables the product to be used in various demanding applications. The large output swing of the OPA134 is within 1V of the rails. As a result, the component has more headroom and is suitable for use in any audio circuit.
Standard configurations for this integrated circuit (IC) include single and twin versions housed in 8-pin DIP and 50-8 surface-mount packages, respectively. There are two packaging for the quad: a 14-pin DIP and a SO-14 surface-mount. All are specified for use in temperatures ranging from 40 to 85 degrees Celsius. For design analysis, a SPICE macro model is at your disposal.
This integrated circuit can be utilized for audio pre-amplification; due to the low cost of the component in comparison to its technical specifications, it offers the potential to provide superior sound quality. The following diagram illustrates a configuration of a non-inverting op-amp for testing purposes.
In the example that was just given, the OPA2134 operational amplifier is set up in a non-inverting arrangement. The gain of the operational amplifier is set to 10. To do that, we used a 1K resistor and a 9.1K resistor. As you can see, we used a variable potentiometer for the simulation. By adjusting the potentiometer, we can change the input voltage, which adjusts the output voltage. We used a +12V and a -12V supply to power the op-amp. The gain of the op-amp is 10. Therefore, if we supply 1V at the input, we will get 10V at the output, and the simulated circuit demonstrates that this is exactly what would happen.
The OPA2134 is a FET input op-amp in contrast to the bipolar input NE5532; depending on the function the op-amp serves in the circuit, it may or may not be a suitable substitute for the NE5532.
The OPA Sound Plus audio operational amplifiers are simple to operate and do not suffer from the phase-inversion or overload issues that are frequent in other types of operational amplifiers that use FET inputs. They can function from power supplies ranging from 2.5 V to 18 V. The input cascade circuitry maintains a low input bias current throughout its broad input voltage range, which helps to keep distortion to a minimum while also providing outstanding common-mode rejection.
The operational amplifiers of the OPA134 series are stable at unity gain and have excellent dynamic behavior over a wide range of load circumstances, including high load capacitance. They are also very cost-effective. Even when overdriven or overloaded, the dual and quad versions contain independent circuitry, resulting in the lowest possible crosstalk and complete freedom from interaction.
Texas Instruments (TI) is a global semiconductor company founded in 1958 and now employs over 30,000 people in 35 countries to design, manufacture, and distribute analog and product-differentiating embedded processing components. TI has worked hard to become a solution provider with a vision to alter the world of technology.
When it comes to audio, go no farther than the OPA2134, a low-noise, ultra-low distortion operational amplifier. To deliver improved sound quality and speed for exceptional audio performance, a genuine FET input stage was included.
In typical configurations, this OPA2134 is available in single and dual versions in 8-pin DIP and 50-8 surface-mount packages. The quad is open in surface-mount and 14-pin DIP packaging. All are rated for temperatures ranging from 40°C to 85°C. For design analysis, a SPICE macro model is offered.
